About The Mill
THE MILL: BUILT ON THE CANNON

The historic mill that sits upon the Cannon River was built in 1890 and was originally powered by the river’s rushing current. After electrical power was introduced, the water was used to clean new shipments of raw wool before being dyed and finished within company walls. Today, there is little functional use for the Cannon RIver but we are still fortunate to rest upon its banks.

ESTABLISHED ON THE BANKS OF THE CANNON
The Faribault Woolen Mill Company is one of the only fully integrated woolen mills still in existence today in America. The company is built on the banks of the Cannon River in Faribault, Minnesota dating back to 1865. It has the seamless ability to take raw, uncleaned wool from ranchers, and performs all of the intermediary processes to create beautiful finished product of the highest quality.
