Factory Second Pure & Simple Bone/White Wool Blanket

I was issued a U.S. Olive Drab wool blanket at Ft Knox Basic Training in 1965. I still have it. It was with me from Private in 1965 to retired Sergeant Major in 1998. It is in perfect condition. Not so much as a stitch come loose. It's been DRY CLEANED yearly for 55 years. It was made by Faribault Woolen Mills. Now at 73, nights are getting chilly sometimes. Life's experience told me "Rick, you need a QUEEN SIZE wool blanket for the bedroom." "Acrylic" Wool from CHINA machine wash? at half the price? Not even considered. Buy Chinese...it breaks. Get a second Chinese...it breaks. LESSON LEARNED. Buy American. I bought the Faribault WOOL gray. I'm getting the THROW next.

Not too rough or too warm. Lightweight yet still comfortable.. If softness is a high priority get the merino wool. Overall the blanket is much better than a down comforter.

We bought the white blanket and put it on the bed over the top sheet, it is warm and comfy. We heard some people had problems with smell or
discolored but we had no issues at all, and it comes in a nice plastic storage bag with a zipper.

I love this blanket. I have a medical condition causing my body to be extremely sensitive to cold and cool air touching my skin. After trying 7 other blankets, this one keeps me warm but doesn't make me hot. I can sleep through the night for the first time in months. It was stiff and scratchy out of the package and had a slight smell I believe is from the plastic 'envelope' it comes in. I washed it using vinegar (fabric softener should not be used on wool) and it was softer after one wash. I wanted the green, but ordered the India correct by mistake. It is such a pretty color, I kept it. I will enjoy this blanket for many years.
