Why Are We Lowering Prices?

Our recent growth, combined with generations of experience, investments into new and upgraded equipment, and our singular focus on Made in USA manufacturing, have made it possible for us to cut the costs on our iconic products. And instead of pocketing the difference, we’re passing those savings on to you, because comfort shouldn’t cost more in times like these.

So, rather than raising prices with everyone else, we’re bringing them down; not as a promotion, but as a promise to all of our loyal customers to provide the world’s best blankets at the best price we can offer.

Hawaii transplant survives Wisconsin winter in comfort

Aloha,

Born in the PNW, raised & lived most my life in Honolulu, so the use of wool blankets was very minimal, but we had a lot floating around. We had the scratchy Army style blankets & Pendleton- the nice blankets. Needless to say, I’d pick those over the scratchy blankets & they were my standard and we still have some in the ohana that are now pushing 100 years.

But we have moved to Wisconsin and want to support industry closer to home, so Faribault was a natural candidate. Plus I don’t want artificial fibers on me, especially while snoring deeply. After thinking about buying a blanket, or two, for an entire 45 seconds, I decided to to buy a Thad Nakao designed throw.

Then I realized that I was being selfish & I also bought factory second blanket, that was my wife would have her very own- and I thought that I wouldn’t mention that it was a ‘second’, just to see of she’d notice.

She did not and I didn’t see the ‘flaw’ either, but asked me why I didn’t follow the $300 rule (we always confer with each other, just in case). The easy answer was that both blankets were under $250 and it sounds like a commercial, but we feel like they are some of the BEST blankets ever and the price does not reflect quality- they’re worth a lot more.

Incredible Design

Incredible blanket and design - found this artist explanation which really helped me to understand the symbolism:

Artist Statement "The worldviews that are embedded within the symbolism in the design are culturally specific. Yet, the symbolism is not exclusive to Lakota people. As I thought about what those symbols speak to, I thought of the word “Guided.” Other Oceti Sakowin people may think similarly when they view the design because of common cultural teachings. Native people from other tribes will have their own cultural references. Non-Native people may see it and perhaps they’ll think about the North Star, the history of this land base, or perhaps they’ll see family and community. Or, they might think about the ways their lives are guided by faith, or values." -Dyani White Hawk
